IDIWA ensures that women and girls with disabilities exercise their human right to live free from all forms of violence, through promotion of positive behaviors, practices and attitudes, and strengthening mechanisms for prevention, protection, and accountability to end Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities and improving access to essential, specialist, safe and adequate multi-sectoral services. IDIWA promotes access to services offered by government and other development agencies as well as participation in decision making processes. I

DIWA empowers women and girls with disabilities to participate in governance processes, and advocate for their rightful inclusion in government planning and service delivery. IDIWA supports capacity building for emerging Organizations of Persons with Disabilities -OPDs, grassroots women’s rights organizations -WROs to collectively advance progress on ending violence against women and girls with disabilities.
