IDIWA Launches a project in Bugiri District.
This project aimed at “Ending Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities-WGDs and strengthening institutional response to COVID-19 and other crises”
This project has been implemented in two more districts in the eastern Part of Uganda including Mayuge and Kaliro.
The projects main goal is to promote inclusive services for Women and Girls with Disabilities who are survivors of Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Bugiri District. This will be achieved through the attainment of three main outcomes:
- One hundred fifty (150) WGDs in Bugiri district empowered to protect and demand fulfillment of their rights, and access to SGBV services by 2024.
- Strengthened mechanisms for protection and response to SGBV against WGDs in Bugiri district by 2024.
- IDIWA and collaborating partners strengthened to promote gender equality and women empowerment, and sustainably respond to COVID-19 and other crises while maintaining and adapting to existing interventions on Ending Violence Against WGDs by 2024.
