The aim of this component is to enable people with disabilities, women and other vulnerable groups create their own employment and sustain themselves and immediate family members by training in various vacations such Catering, Hair dressing, Tailoring, Industrial art and design, Computer and secretarial studies, among others. The training is undertaken both at Vocational Training Institution and community (apprenticeship with local artisans). Over 200 People with Disabilities and women have been trained and supported with startup materials to enable them put to use the skills learnt. Some beneficiaries of the vocational skills training program have established their own businesses while others have secured employment in private and public enterprises. The majority are now able to meet basic necessities such as medical care, clothing, housing and school fees for their children. Others have made savings and bought assets.
